The Doodletown Pipers / Up, Up and Away
Remember Acrylics of the Inner Light? You know, my follow-up album to Snowy Flakes and Fruity Cakes? Come on, you remember. Got it? Good. Anyway, it’s been put on indefinite hiatus. Smile Epidemic, the backing band that I hired for it (they are like the kids to get if you’re throwing a sock hop), were taking it in a frankly artistically inferior direction than I had originally envisioned. They were making Acrylics sound like a slightly edgier version of The Doodletown Pipers when I thought I had made it perfectly clear that this was a serious artistic statement and I wanted it to sound like The Doodletown Pipers without all that edge.
